Report-Back From the BAsics Bus Tour; the Illuminati Is a Myth Discussion

We recommend - Received in an email:

We Say No
More!

Report-back
from the BAsics
Bus Tour, with
Michael Slate,
Clyde Young, and other bus tour volunteers

Wednesday, June 20th 7 p.m.
KAOS Network, 4343 Leimert Blvd.
(near Crenshaw & 43rd in L.A.)
$5 donation requested at the door

On Wednesday, June 20th, hear from revolutionary journalist and KPFK
radio host Michael Slate*, communist and ex-prisoner Clyde Young, and
other L.A. volunteers who recently returned from the BAsics Bus Tour.
The BAsics Bus Tour kicked off in Atlanta in mid-May, traveling through
parts of the South and into Sanford, Florida, the city where Trayvon
Martin was murdered, bringing the work and vision of Bob Avakian
and his book BAsics everywhere it went.

"No more generations of our youth, here and all around the world,
whose life is over, whose fate has been sealed, who have been
condemned to an early death or a life of misery and brutality, whom
the system has destined for oppression and oblivion even before
they are born. I say no more of that."

Bob Avakian, Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party, BAsics 1:13

The BAsics Bus Tour brought this quote everywhere it stopped, and
hundreds of people along the route and all over the country signed
English and Spanish banners of this quote, standing with the people
of Sanford. A collage of pictures of these signings was passed out in
Sanford, where the bus tour volunteers marched through town and
together with people there spoke out powerfully in front of the Sanford
police station.

The BAsics Bus Tour went into some of the most downpressed
neighborhoods in Georgia and Florida where there is deep outrage
and hurt and anger that a generation of Black youth is being treated
as "a generation of suspects." The bus tour volunteers introduced
people to the book BAsics and the work and vision of Bob Avakian,
the leader who has opened up the pathway of revolution to end these
outrages and the whole system that is causing them. And everywhere
the bus tour went it brought people into the movement for revolution.

On June 20th hear about what happened on this bus tour, the voices
of the people who encountered this tour, what was accomplished
through it, and the lessons for moving forward to build the movement
for revolution. And be part of taking this experience higher: supporting,
donating, and volunteering for the next leg of the BAsics Bus Tour
taking off in July.

Join in this important
discussion!

"Why do we live in such a fucked-up
world? Why are decisions so clearly
out of the hands of the masses of
people? And why do these decisions
always run so sharply against the interests of these masses? Why do a
few people control enormous amounts of wealth... while many more
swim frantically to keep their heads above water... and the vast majority
are ground down and chained to a life of misery, no matter what they do?
And why are we lied to about all this?

People seek answers to these questions. Urgently. One of the biggest,
most widespread answers out there pins all this on a shadowy group
called the "Illuminati." This small but virtually all-powerful group, we
are told, is bent on world domination. They have supposedly manipulated
and rigged every war, every revolution, every economic or political crisis
in accord with a master plan for world domination. There are 57 varieties
of this explanation to be found on the Internet, differing in this or that
detail and degree, but this is the basic framework you get from them all..."

Help plan a major summer campaign to
      save Revolution Books!

FRIENDS:

You are needed to launch a major summer campaign to save
Revolution Books.  Bring your ideas, passion, creativity and
determination.  At stake: ensuring that Revolution Books
continues as the place where people can come from all over
the world to find the books and the deep engagement with
each other about why the world is the way it is and the
possibility of a radically different way the world could be.
Revolution Books is a bookstore at the center of building a
movement for revolution.

There is no other place, no other bookstore that fills this great
need.  We need you to help pull out all the stops to raise the
funds, bring more people into the store, get the store out into
the public square this summer.  Revolution Books is more
than a bookstore -- it is a cause and a movement. It needs
your generous financial donation now, and your help in
building a much larger base of support.

Fresh stirrings of struggle continue around the world and here
in the US at a moment of deepening economic and political crisis.
People need analyses of the depth of the problems and their
causes. They need a way out of the madness and horror.
Revolution Books is indispensable to opening up the process
of discovery about a future worth fighting for.

Revolution Books challenges conventional wisdom that this
capitalist system is the best humanity can do -- in the bookstore
and out in the world it brings to people the reality that there is a
new synthesis of communism brought forward by Bob Avakian,
which is a viable vision and strategy for a radically new, and much
better, society and world. At RB, people can get connected with
the leadership needed for the struggle toward that goal.

What is so critical for the future is that this possibility not be
lost.

Throughout the summer, RB must be out and become known all
over the city.  People need to be coming in large numbers into
RB for provocative readings, forums, films, open mics  - and to
buy, read and discuss books! Everywhere and in many different
ways people contributing to RB so that the dream that so many
have of a far better world can take deeper root and flourish.
