Greenberg Professor of Law at the University of Chicago, and the author of How to Save a Constitutional Democracy. He recently wrote about the increased danger of war resulting from the killing of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani. He added, "But that the killing will have repercussions within the United States, rattling the lives and liberties of many U.S. citizens and residents, is also a strong possibility — one that’s no less ominous."  US citizens of Iranian origin have already been detained and questioned -- some for up to 10 hours -- at US border crossings. And "anti-terrorism" laws already on the books, can be used to terrible repressive effect.  Carl Dix from DC on Impeachment, and the Need to Flood DC  Carl Dix is a representative of the Revolutionary Communist Party and an advocate of Bob Avakian's New Communism. This week: Oscar Brown Jr. - His Art, His Music, His Politics And His Passion An interview with Oscar Brown Jr. (1926 – 2005), done with him a year before his death, where he talks about his life, his art, his politics and his dreams. Oscar Brown Jr. was an extraordinary artist and was a jazz vocalist, songwriter, playwright, poet and actor. In the course of his life Brown wrote scores of operas and plays including adaptations of Greek Tragedies, and hundreds of songs. He also wrote literally thousands of poems on every subject imaginable and directed and produced an award winning TV series on jazz. Throughout all of his work told the stories of Black people and fought hard for justice for Black people. And in doing this he sought to lay bare and strengthen the humanity we all share in common.
