Revolution Books invites you to a special screening on Saturday, May 7th at 12 Noon, of the newly-released powerful documentary Trapped, written and directed by Dawn Porter, which follows the struggles of courageous abortion doctors, clinic workers and lawyers on the front lines of a battle to keep abortion safe and legal for millions of women in the U.S.

Since 2010, 288 TRAP (Targeted Regulations of Abortion Providers) laws have been passed by state legislatures, resulting in the closure of over 150 clinics, restricting the right to abortion for tens of millions of women.

100,000 women in Texas alone have attempted self-induced abortions because over half the clinics have closed in the last several years.  Women like Anna Yocca in Tennessee and Purvi Patel in Indiana have been imprisoned for this.

On November 17 of last year, a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado was shot up and three people were murdered.  Half of the clinics in the country have staff who have experienced targeted harrassment, stalking and terrorism.

The film was awarded the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Social Impact Filmmaking at Sundance this year.
