Join the Revolution Club, L.A. as we kick off a series of discussions on the powerful book Science And Revolution, an Interview with Ardea Skybreak. For our first discussion we'll begin with the sections: "A Scientific Approach to Society, And Changing the World" and "A Scientific Outlook, A Boundless Curiosity About the World". (This Interview is also available for download online at www.revcom.us).

From Insight Press:

At a time when science - from the theory of evolution to the understanding of climate change - is under attack; when efforts are underway to muzzle scientists and suppress their work; when a barrage of "alternative facts" (lies) of all manner are being promoted with impunity as a substitute for the truth; and when blind obedience is being imposed in opposition to critical thinking-all of which has disastrous implications- this provocative interview with Ardea Skybreak is highly relevant and assumes great urgency.

In this wide-ranging interview Skybreak, a scientist with professional training in ecology and evolutionary biology, and an advocate of the new synthesis of communism brought forward by Bob Avakian, speaks to why science and the scientific method are essential not only in relationship to the natural world but also to understanding society and transforming it in the interests of humanity.

Skybreak is the author of, among other works, The Science of Evolution and the Myth of Creationism: Knowing What's Real and Why It Matters, and Of Primeval Steps and Future Leaps: An Essay on the Emergence of Human Beings, the Source of Women's Oppression, and the Road to Emancipation.
