THIS WEEK:  Hands Off Refuse Fascism & The Revolution Club; Defeating Kavanaugh -- On the Right Terms! + "Bisbee '17"

Drop the Charges Against Revolutionaries and Refuse Fascism Activists in Los Angeles!

Los Angeles members of Refuse Fascism and the Revolution Club are facing serious charges for resisting the Trump/Pence fascist regime. Eleven people are now facing trial for blocking the 101 Freeway last November, and for speaking from the audience at a UCLA appearance of the fascist cabinet member Steve Mnuchin. We'll talk with some of the defendants about the important of their actions, the nature of the charges, and why people need to defend revolutionaries and anti-fascist resisters.

For more background, read new article HERE.

Sunsara Taylor: Defeating the Supreme Court Nomination of Brett Kavanaugh -- On the Right Terms

We'll speak with Sunsara Taylor, writer for Revcom.us/Revolution newsaper, and co-initiator of Refuse Fascism, on why the struggle to prevent Kavanaugh from being seated must not only continue but intensify, with the correct focus—on his thoroughly fascist history and what that portends for the future of humanity. Kavanaugh has done great harm throughout his life, and if given the chance to ascend to the Supreme Court he will do far far worse. Check out the recent article on revcom.us.

Bisbee '17 -- Disturbing Documentary Screening in Los Angeles
Armed men go house to house rousing people from sleep, dragging them and hundreds of others to cattle cars where they are jammed in to be deported to an unknown destination.

No, this is not Nazi Germany.  This is the United States of America - and this really happened on July 12, 1917 in the border town of Bisbee, Arizona.

One hundred years later, the town commemorates this mind-boggling act on July 12, 2017 - documented by filmmaker Robert Greene. The film BISBEE '17 raises important questions and leaves the viewer even more inquisitive and wanting to find more meaning and answers. We'll be sitting down with Robert Greene to talk about the film and its meaning in these times.

The film will open Friday, September 28 here in Los Angeles at the Laemmle Monica and the Laemmle Pasadena Playhouse.
