February 24, 2022In a heinous act dripping with hypocrisy, Vladimir Putin announced he was sending in his army to “demilitarize and de-Nazify” Ukraine. This is nothing but grotesque imperialist bullshit to justify a move to protect the capitalist-imperialist interests of Russia. In words which were even more hypocritical, American political players from Biden on down self-righteously deplored this move—while conveniently ignoring the U.S.’s own history of doing exactly the same kind of thing, except qualitatively more frequently and on a much more horrendous scale. And, of course, Biden very conveniently covered over the ways in which the U.S. and NATO have goaded this on. In order to understand what is really going on, we urge you to read “As Ominous Events Unfold in Ukraine, a Basic Orientation” and “While Russian Troops Mass on the Ukraine Border, U.S. Provocations Escalate Danger of War”; to tune into The RNL—Revolution, Nothing Less—Show today, Thursday, at 8 pm EST, 7 pm CST, and 5 pm PST; and to come back to this site later today, as we add materials that can explain this.
