Carl Dix joins us from Charlotte, North Carolina, to talk about the recent police murders of Terence Crutcher in Tulsa OK, and Keith Lamont Scott, in Charlotte. Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sept 16, Terence Crutcher is shot and killed with his hands up by Tulsa Police, when his car was stalled on the road. Charlotte, NC, Sept 20. Four days later, Keith Lamont Scott, a 43-year-old disabled Black man, is murdered by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police as he was waiting on his son to be dropped off after school. Following this murder, people in Charlotte rebelled for two straight nights, so far. The North Carolina governor has declared a state of emergency and deployed the National Guard against the people. Carl Dix is a representative of the Revolutionary Communist Party, and co-founder of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network. Get the latest at revcom.us.  --------------------------------------------------------  Remembering the State-Sanctioned Murder of Troy Davis Jen Marlowe joins us to talk about the continuing impact of the execution of Troy Davis, on the fifth anniversary of his murder by the state of Georgia, September 20, 2011. Davis was sentenced to death in 1991 for the 1989 murder of a white police officer in Savannah, GA. Despite the absence of physical evidence linking Davis to the murder -- and an international campaign to save his life -- the state of Georgia doggedly pursued his execution. Jen Marlowe is the author of I Am Troy Davis. She is a communications associate for Just Vision, the founder of donkeysaddle projects, an award-winning author/documentary filmmaker. --------------------------------------------------------  Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up We'll talk with Lucy Alibar, the playwright and actor of a masterpiece of storytelling. Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up recently premiered to cheers and applause at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.
